Taiseer J. Shatara, M.D., F.A.S.G., M.A.S.G., received his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Este Dominican Republic. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and his GI Fellowship at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He also received a Geriatrics Fellowship from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He has served on several hospital committees and is fluent in four languages — English, Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese. He was voted one of the Top Doctors in Gastroenterology by Indianapolis Monthly magazine in 2008.
